Biography

Jill Heilman recently joined Johnson & Wales University’s M.S. Counseling program as a core faculty member. She holds a PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences with a specialization in Rehabilitation Counseling and Pediatric Disability from the University of Florida. With more than 15 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Heilman has taught and mentored both graduate and undergraduate students in rehabilitation counseling, mental health counseling and disability studies.

Prior to joining JWU, she served as Director of Student Accessibility Services and Adjunct Professor at Connecticut College, where she championed access, inclusion and student success for students with disabilities. She also held faculty and leadership roles in the Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling program at the University of South Florida, contributing to graduate education, student supervision, curriculum development and CACREP accreditation initiatives.
