Biography

Marissa Meucci, PT, MSPT, Ph.D., is a physical therapist and health services researcher whose work focuses on improving the safety and independence of community-dwelling older adults. Her research examines healthcare services and policies that support older adults in safely remaining in their homes and communities as they age. She is particularly interested in the effectiveness of rehabilitation and physical therapy services and understanding care trajectories at the population level.

Dr. Meucci earned her Ph.D. in health services research from the Brown University School of Public Health. Her research uses large administrative claims and other population-based datasets to examine patterns of healthcare utilization and outcomes among older adults. She holds a master’s degree in physical therapy from Boston University’s Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Her clinical experience includes inpatient rehabilitation and home health, with a focus on patients with neurological conditions such as stroke and brain injury.
