Services

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling is provided in a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere. Sessions typically last for 50 minutes. During this time you will meet privately with a counselor to talk about your concerns and will work collaboratively with them to set goals that will address your needs.

Crisis Intervention

Counseling Services provides urgent coverage during business hours, so that students in crisis may be assisted immediately. After business hours, crisis services are accessed by calling Campus Safety & Security. Depending on the nature of the crisis, they in turn may page the on-call counselor or other emergency services.

Consultations

Clinical Counselors are available to consult with students, faculty and staff, as well as parents and families who are concerned about the emotional well-being of a student. To request consultation please contact the office.

Educational Programming

Counseling Services engages in various outreach educational programs throughout the year. Our primary program is a suicide prevention program called Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR). This training is available for students, faculty, and staff. For more information or to request training please contact our office.
