University Marketing & Communications

University Marketing & Communications shapes and protects how the world sees JWU. The team manages the university’s brand, media relationships, digital presence and storytelling in service of enrollment, reputation and community engagement.

University Marketing & Communications is comprised of four core areas. Together, these teams operate as one integrated Marketing & Communications office — sharing strategy, aligning messaging and executing across channels to ensure JWU speaks with a consistent, compelling voice to every audience it serves.

Standards & Resources

The office has created the following standards and resources to support the entire JWU community in creating communications that are clear, consistent and reflective of the Johnson & Wales brand. They also serve as a valuable reference for vendor partners working on behalf of JWU departments.

University Standards

The official University Graphic Standards guide details approved methods for using JWU logos, identifiers and other visual elements.

The official University Editorial Standards guide provides a foundation for making decisions about punctuation, spelling, abbreviation, capitalization and grammar, helping improve the clarity and consistency of university communications.

University Resources

The official University Brand Resource Guide details approved university messaging and positioning.

The core storylines contained in this guide are key thought starters when creating university collateral, messaging, programming, scripts, events, pitches, signage and other communications that tell the JWU story.

When creating social media content on behalf of a university department, college or organization, follow the official Social Media Guidelines. JWU faculty and staff are encouraged to participate in professional social media conversations that support JWU’s reputation and brand.
