Program Overview
Data is everywhere we look. It informs every decision we make and drives our choices.
At JWU, we can help you harness its power through our data analytics degree. Our interdisciplinary program will give you a strong foundation in mathematics, computer science and communications, with courses in both JWU’s College of Engineering & Design and John Hazen White College of Arts & Sciences.
“Our graduates will be able to bridge the gap that too often appears between data analysts and the content experts like scientists, administrators, business professionals, etc., that hire them,” said Professor Evelina Lapierre, Ph.D.
Learn to use specialized systems to collect and organize data, then use statistical methods to discover patterns, find correlations and predict outcomes in order to make better-informed decisions in your chosen field.
You’ll be positioned to get ahead of the competition by focusing your interests through a minor in public health, environmental sustainability, marketing, economics or finance. Then, if you qualify, you can gain industry experience before graduating by completing a 12-credit-hour internship. “An internship is a powerful tool that can create a smoother path to a career,” said Lapierre.
To further enhance your data analytics degree, you can apply to JWU’s data analytics accelerated master’s degree program.
