Program Overview
Move past most of the competition with a guaranteed interview by Physician Assistant admissions staff. You can apply to JWU’s Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) as a student in JWU’s Biology or Health Science bachelor’s degree program if you meet academic and experiential eligibility requirements.
To be considered, you must
- Submit an application to the JWU PA program through the Central Application service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) by September 1 of the calendar year prior to intended matriculation, as well as
º a letter of recommendation from JWU Biology faculty and
º official GRE scores - Achieve a minimum CASPA-calculated cumulative GPA of 3.30 and BCP (biology/chemistry/physics) GPA of 3.30, with no grade below C
- Accumulate at least 250 hours of direct patient care (paid or volunteer) in an allopathic or osteopathic medical setting
- Complete PA shadowing
You’ll benefit from the close professional relationships between the Biology, Health Science and Physician Assistant programs, which feature many of the same faculty. These faculty understand the demands and requirements of the PA program, and will work with you to define the most competitive patient care experience.
