Physician Assistant Studies Pathway

Program Overview

If you’re set on pursuing physician assistant studies, you could move past most competitors with a guaranteed interview by Physician Assistant admissions staff. You can apply to JWU’s Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) as an undergrad in one of JWU’s pre-health bachelor’s degree programs (Biology, Health Science or Exercise and Sports Science) if you meet academic and experiential eligibility requirements.

To be considered for the guaranteed PA program interview, you must:

• Achieve a minimum CASPA-calculated cumulative GPA of 3.30 and BCP (biology/chemistry/physics) GPA of 3.30, with no grade below C
• Submit an application to the JWU PA program through the Central Application service for Physician Assistants (CASPA) by September 1 of the calendar year prior to intended matriculation, including a letter of recommendation from JWU pre-health faculty
• Meet all criteria for admission to the program, including prerequisite course work, direct patient care experience, and PA shadowing
