JWU internships put students on real projects with real deadlines. Avery Garmon ’26, a Culinary Science & Product Development major, cooked recipes exactly as written at America’s Test Kitchen to help ensure home cooks get the same results.

Jeselin Chanel ’28, a Business Administration major, ran events and operations at WaterFire as an events operations intern. Both built skills they’ll use on the job after graduation.

Accounting major Abigail Rendock ’27 worked on tax returns for real clients of Withum while interning at the national public accounting firm.

“I did a lot of work that’s rare for an accounting internship. It’s above entry- level, and I wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to do it until after receiving my degree.”

Psychology major Teagan Bradford ’26 gained clinical experience during her internship at Rebound, a Charlotte Rescue Mission program helping men in active addiction recovery.

“It was an opportunity that not a lot of undergrads get — to really get hands-on experience at this point in our careers. It’s almost unheard of, and we’re very lucky to have that at JWU.”

Turn a Part-Time Job into an Internship

Biology major Zayden Hill ’27 aims to pursue JWU’s Physician Assistant Studies program. She turned a part-time job at CVS Pharmacy into a health-related internship.
