Department of Accountancy Providence Campus
Accounting continues to be one of the most dynamic professions in business.
As the needs of multi-national organizations change new and exciting demands
are placed upon the accounting profession and the need for individuals
with interpersonal, communications, analytical, and technological skills
increases.
Each accounting major at J&W is given the educational experience
necessary to prepare for a successful career. Experience begins with classroom
instruction consisting of a blend of theory and practice delivered by
professors with public accounting and industry experience. It continues
by giving you the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge by participating
in cooperative education opportunities in public accounting and industry,
on-campus practicum programs, and the Internal Revenue Service's Volunteer
Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program.
