Governing Organizations
Campus Activities Board (CAB) CAB is a student organization charged with the creation, organization, and implementation of many of the activities that come out of the Office Student Activities. It is run and maintained by dedicated students who want to provide entertainment to the student body. Anyone with any major can join CAB. The events and ideas come from the student body and without students, there would be no events.

Student Government Association (SGA) The Student Government Association is to act as the official voice of the student body, thereby building trust and support for students, encouraging student involvement, fostering a sense of community on campus, and facilitating effective communication between students and university administration.

Active Clubs & Organizations
Accounting Club To provide guidance to those students interested in the accounting profession. Interaction with accounting firm recruiters, corporate professionals, and Johnson & Wales’ faculty to help students prepare for internships and the world after graduation. The Accounting Club gives the Johnson & Wales business community a chance to meet new people and network with others with similar career ideals. email

Anointed Ministries  This club’s purpose is to be a light within the community of the Johnson & Wales University Campus.  Through their dedication and commitment to God and ministry, they strive to become wholesome college students by building their spirit, mind and body.  In doing this, they want to be the difference and make a difference within their environment, always striving to operate in excellence.  email  

Baking & Pastry Club To provide an environment outside of laboratory classes that enriches the baking & pastry education of students at Johnson & Wales. The organization will strive to participate in functions within the community surrounding Johnson & Wales and provide community service through various events. email

Cheerleading Club The JWU Cheerleading Club shall strive to boost school spirit, create team unity, sisterhood and brotherhood, develop good communication skills and inspire fun and excitement. We also want to have an atmosphere where one can be respected through the interaction and commitment of the club. email

College Democrats The College Democrats pledge to support the philosophy and candidates of the Democratic Party. Furthermore, the College Democrats declares its intention to support all efforts to increase the participation of college students in Democratic affairs. email

Collegiate Ambassador Team (CAT) An organization that assists the Admissions Office in meeting the needs of prospective students. The goal is to create a group of students to represent the university student body during tours, special events, and recruitment efforts. email

Delta Epsilon Chi (NSO) The purpose of this organization is to assist local chapter members in their growth and development, and to further develop a respect for education in marketing and management, which will contribute to educational competence. Additionally, we will promote understanding and appreciation of the responsibilities of citizenship in our free, competitive enterprise system. email

Eta Sigma Delta Eta Sigma Delta is an honor society for students who have completed 50% of degree requirements in a hospitality related major.  ESD is an opportunity for students to distinguish themselves in the eyes of educators, recruiters and industry professionals.  ESD is based off the 5 points of Honor: Excellence, Leadership, Creativity, Service and Ethics.  email

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America FCCLA (NSO) The purpose of this organization is to provide the necessary resources to increase practical knowledge, interpersonal communication and public speaking skills in order to help student leaders reach their career goals. Through members’ passion, dedication and positive attitude, the community will recognize the value of the family as the basic unit of society. The organization will challenge our society’s standards, and incorporate positive change through community service, leadership and character development. email

Fashion Society The Fashion Society looks to further students’ knowledge in the vast and diverse world of the fashion industry. We will strive to give students an opportunity to showcase their talents and provide real world practice for career development. email

Garnish Your Degree Association This organization seeks to provide students with an opportunity to meet and interact with fellow students, to discuss any concerns and experiences that are specifically unique to the Garnish Your Degree Program, and to have an active voice on campus and throughout the community.  email

The I Club The purpose of this club is to work collectively to bring domestic Americans and international students together, with a focus on acquiring a greater appreciation for all cultures through social, educational and entertaining activities.  email

Ice Chippers This organization’s purpose is to give students the opportunity to learn, experience, and practice the art of ice carving, while reinforcing the importance of safety. email

International Food Service Executives Association (IFSEA) The mission of the International Food Service Executives Association is to promote career excellence though the development of leadership abilities and service to the University and community. email

Minorities About Business (MAB) Focuses on providing students with resources and tools that will enable them to make wise business investments, strengthen their skills and enhance personal development. Through members’ passion and dedication, Minorities About Business creates successful community relations, while incorporating community service into its members. email

Minority Alliance for Culinary Excellence The club’s purpose is to create a network of minority students and industry professionals who are serious about the advancement of the Culinary and Baking & Pastry Arts through mentoring programs, lecture series, networking opportunities and community service. email

National Society of Minorities in Hospitality (NSMH) Builds and maintains a working relationship between minority hospitality students and industry professionals. It also aids in the recruiting and retention of minorities in the hospitality program. email

Nutrition Club Our purpose is to assist in the education and organization of students and faculty who are dedicated to finding new ways of improving their quality of life through nutrition and healthy living. We will accomplish this through actively involving ourselves and to educate others about the field of nutrition and to promote ways to achieve a healthier lifestyle. email

Professional Business Leaders of America (Phi Beta Lambda) (NSO) This is a national student organization with activities geared toward developing future business leaders. Activities include public service projects, social events, motivational guest speakers and fundraising events. Members also have the opportunity to travel to leadership development conferences on state, regional and national levels. email

Random Acts of Kindness This organization looks to provide opportunities for students who wish to voluntarily participate in reaching out to the community. RAK is actively seeking ways to minimize the poverty level in Charlotte, provide necessities to the homeless, and uphold the respected reputation of Johnson & Wales University. email

Sankofa Cultural Society This organization will strive to raise awareness and understanding throughout the JWU community about cultural, political, economical, and social interests that impact the African American community.  “We encourage individuals to come and share in our vision.” email

Skills USA (NSO) This organization seeks to promote skills and leadership throughout the culinary and dining room industry. We look to accomplish this through meetings, competitions, trips, and teamwork, and also by learning and interacting with new people in the culinary and dining room community. This organization is a way to meet important people in the industry along with raising money for our organization, for continuing education and networking. email

Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) SHRM will strive to give J&W students the opportunity to gain knowledge and insight into the effective management of personnel in the field of Human Resource Management through affiliation with the National SHRM Organization. email

Special Events Club The purpose of this club is to involve the student body through a volunteer basis. Participation in the Special Events Club enables members to dedicate their time to various functions throughout the Johnson & Wales community as well as the surrounding public communities. email

Student Alumni Association (SAA) The Student Alumni Association will impact the student experience at Johnson & Wales University by providing students with opportunities for personal growth, leadership and skill development and by building a strong spirit of unity among students and alumni. email

Toastmasters International The mission of our Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn will foster self confidence and personal growth. email

WECONNECT This group seeks to facilitate and maintain a group of motivated students who share the general interest of growing socially, academically, and professionally through organizing and executing meetings, community service projects, social structured gatherings and networking events.  email

Wildcat Herb Society The society aims to educate its members on culinary herbs, edible flowers, soil chemistry, the proper use of herbs, and seasonal planting of herbs. We will cultivate and manage our own herb garden, which will help to benefit the Johnson & Wales community. email

Wine & Beer Education Society The Wine & Beer Education Society is a group of adult students dedicated to becoming better educated in the field of wine, beer and spirits. We will focus on the important role of these beverages in the food service and hospitality industries. Practical competence will be acquired through education and tasting. Experts in the field will be solicited as often as feasible to share their knowledge with the club. email
