As a native Rhode Islander, Jaclyn Boichat always knew she wanted to come back and work in this great state. After studying at Villanova University, where she earned a B.S. in Accountancy and a B.S. in Economics, Boichat returned to Rhode Island. She started her career in public accounting while pursuing her master’s in Professional Accountancy at Bryant University.

After obtaining her master’s, Boichat became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and left public accounting to work in healthcare finance. She subsequently took a position as an assistant professor with JWU.

Q&A with Jaclyn

At JWU, education is not confined to the four walls of the classroom. You’re not going to spend four years with your nose buried in a book, learning theories you may never get a chance to apply — you’re going to get out there and apply them, be it through internships, group projects, leadership opportunities, competitions and more.
