what are LCs? Johnson & Wales University Charlotte has two Learning Community (LC) programs. The purpose of the Learning Communities is to engage students, staff and faculty in an active, collaborative, yearlong program that enhances the teaching and learning process by incorporating all aspects of a student’s collegiate experience. A select group of students will be chosen from those that apply, to participate in either the Wellness or Business Learning Community. The students selected will have the opportunity to live on the same floor with other students who share their interests in wellness or business.
why should I live in a LC? Studies have shown that students who actively participate in the Learning Communities help with their transition to college, leadership skills, higher grade point average, and better satisfaction with college.
