Community Leadership Institute

Established in 2001, the Community Leadership Institute (CLI) provides students at the Denver Campus with opportunities to learn and practice leadership at the intersection of the campus, industry and community.

A core focus for the CLI is social responsibility — individual, group or organizational behavior that supports the common good. We believe that to succeed in future careers, students need to be prepared to lead in ways that recognize that the health and prosperity of business and industry are inextricably linked to the health and prosperity of their communities.

Toward this end, the CLI offers a wide array of student leadership development and civic engagement programs, collaborating with faculty and several community organizations to consistently develop and assess student service learning projects.

The CLI also serves as a resource for students, recognized student organizations, faculty and staff by connecting them to volunteer opportunities with a diverse group of more than 24 community based organizations across Metro Denver.

The CLI is affiliated with the Colorado Leadership Alliance, formed in the early 1990s to provide leadership training to young people throughout the state.
