Assistant Professor Baldwin completed his Ph.D. in Leadership Studies with an emphasis in Sport Management from Concordia University in Chicago. He earned his master’s degree in Parks, Recreation, Tourism, & Sport Management from North Carolina State University and bachelor’s degree in Parks, Recreation, and Leisure Studies from North Carolina Central University.

Baldwin has more than a decade of experience in secondary and higher education. He has served as an adjunct professor at Johnson C. Smith University and Queens University of Charlotte. He also worked for Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, most recently as a CTE Business Education Teacher at West Mecklenburg High School, Mallard Creek High School and Garinger High School. He currently holds a Professional Educator License (PEL) in Business and Information Technology for the State of North Carolina’s Department of Public Instruction. His research includes:

Diversity, equity and inclusion in professional and college sports

I earned my Ph.D. in Leadership Studies with a research focus on sports leadership, servant leadership and academic support in college athletics.
