Nicholas Provenzano '13 | 3D Engineer + Product Developer

As part of R&D Technologies’ in-house service bureau, Nick Provenzano helps clients transform their creative ideas into real 3D prototypes of consumer products, electronics, auto parts and life-saving medical devices.

Testing the Latest in 3D

“My work at R&D deals directly with prototypes. We test the latest available 3D technology — we currently use Polyjet, fused deposition modeling, and wax printing for investment casting — and push it to the limits.”

Product Development from Start to Finish

Nick gained prototyping experience as part of a JWU class called “End-to-End Product Development,” where he and 12 other students concepted, designed and modeled RememBring, a combination BlueTooth device and app to track lost personal items.

“We went from an idea to a functional model in 3 months. ... The project really enlightened me about what goes into product development.”

Building Career-Ready Skills at JWU

“The biggest thing I learned at JWU was time management. It wasn’t easy graduating with 2 degrees in 3 years — as well as reestablishing Phi Sigma Kappa at JWU — but all of these played a huge part in finding a job right out of college and being successful.”
