3 Reasons to Apply to JWU by January 15

Do you love planning ahead? Do you enjoy the perks that can come with doing things early? Are you planning to go to college? If you said yes to any of these questions, you should apply to JWU by January 15.

January 15 is our priority deadline, which is exactly what it sounds like: if you apply by this date, your application takes priority and, if accepted, you’ll have several benefits. Here are three reasons why you should take advantage and apply right now.

1. You’ll receive your admissions decision by early February.

Yep, that’s right – you’ll learn whether you’ve been accepted within just a few weeks (or possibly less!) of applying and submitting all required documents. You'll be at the front of the line If you’re an impatient person, this is a great benefit.

2. You’ll have early access to housing selection.

We know you’re already thinking about your future residence hall and finding a roommate. As a priority applicant, you’ll be able to make your housing selection before general applicants do, a process that is split into two phases. Phase 1 is where you will answer profile questions and begin your search for potential roommates. Phase 2 is where you select your hall, room and if desired, your roommate(s).

The selection of housing is such an important step in your college journey, and getting to do it sooner will leave you more options and time to plan room decor!

3. You’ll have peace of mind in knowing you can start planning sooner

No scrambling in the spring to apply to colleges or wait for admission decisions. When people ask you what’s your plan for college, you can confidently say “I’m going to JWU and I’ve already started planning for my arrival there in the fall!” (You obviously don’t have to say that, but you get it — you’re going to be able to tell people you’re all set for college.)

All your planning for other steps such as financial aid, completing enrollment requirements, choosing a date for Accepted Students Day and more can start sooner when you’re accepted sooner, and that offers great peace of mind.
