Wildcat Pride on Display at JWU Providence Homecoming & Family Weekend

Family Weekendparade

This past weekend, JWU’s Providence Campus hosted another exciting Homecoming & Family Weekend. Alumni, parents, students, faculty and staff gathered on campus for a weekend filled with JWU traditions, both new and old.

The weekend kicked off Friday night with The Great DuBois, a high-energy circus show, followed by the 3rd Annual JWU Players Improv Show.

“People believe in the ability of JWU to transform lives and to make an impact.”

Saturday morning brought a day packed with events on the Harborside Campus.

Providence Campus President Marie Bernardo-Sousa ’92, LP.D., welcomed members of the community during the Wildcat Chat and took the time to highlight many of JWU’s recent successes, as well as look ahead to the vision for JWU’s future: “People believe in the ability of Johnson & Wales to transform lives and to make an impact. Our students are ambitious and they are doers — and we need to ensure that they have an exceptional educational experience that brings our mission to life.”

Homecoming & Family Weekend would not feel the same without the parade around Harborside Village where student organizations, residence halls and athletic teams proudly display their Wildcat Pride.

Following the parade, the rest of the afternoon was filled with culinary demonstrations in the Cuisinart Center for Culinary Excellence, pumpkin painting, food trucks, the Wildcat Tailgate and multiple athletic events. Families were then treated to an evening of bingo and karaoke in the Wildcat Center.

Sunday morning offered families a final opportunity to unwind. A pop-up style brunch prepared by JWU culinary students was the perfect way to leave families with a lasting memory of an eventful weekend.
