Johnson & Wales University Online has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report in its 2026 Best Online Programs rankings, earning distinction for its online bachelor’s programs in business. JWU Online was also ranked among the Best Online Master’s in Criminal Justice programs.

Released Jan. 27, the annual U.S. News & World Report rankings are widely regarded as a leading benchmark for evaluating the quality of online higher education. The rankings assess whether online programs deliver academic rigor comparable to on-campus offerings, with curriculum, instruction and student support designed specifically for distance learners.
Cindy Parker, vice president of JWU Online, said the recognition reflects the strength of JWU Online’s academic programs and their relevance in a competitive higher education landscape.
“We are proud of our U.S. News & World Report rankings for 2026 in an increasingly competitive market for online higher education. These rankings provide validation of the quality of our academic programs and support our brand and reputation. The rankings can shape perceptions and influence choices among prospective students who are interested in our academic programs.”
U.S. News & World Report evaluates online programs using a combination of self-reported institutional data and peer assessment surveys completed by academic leaders nationwide. Programs are ranked — not institutions — and must be degree-granting, housed at regionally accredited universities and delivered primarily online.

JWU Online offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs designed for working adults and career-focused learners, emphasizing applied learning, industry relevance and academic quality.
