PRESS RELEASE

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — April, 26, 2023 – Johnson & Wales University launched a new in-person Master of Public Health degree program, continuing the university’s commitment to expanding the College of Health & Wellness.

“Our new degree program emphasizes practical, hands-on experience and use of analytical skills in decision making in order to meet the evolving complex public health challenges of the 21st century,” said program director Jonathan Noel, Ph.D., M.P.H. “Our enhanced curriculum, which integrates advanced research methodologies and technology-driven learning, will help students develop the necessary skills to become leaders in public health.”

The first class will begin the two-year degree program in Fall 2023. A bachelor’s degree in public health is not required to apply, as the program welcomes applicants of any prior degree program who are interested in expanding their career in public health. Designed to accommodate working professionals, the program offers flexible learning opportunities including a choice between full- or part-time learning and evening classes. The new program complements the university’s already existing public health, health science, and healthcare administration undergraduate degrees.

The new program comes just a few months after the announcement of JWU’s Accelerated Second Degree Bachelor of Science in Nursing, an innovative program that will prepare graduates for an in-demand career in nursing in just 16 months.
